What You’ll Do

As a Testing and Commissioning Engineer at Spark, your role will include:
  • Conducting high-voltage testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and distribution networks.
  • Performing diagnostic analysis, troubleshooting, and system evaluation to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed testing reports, commissioning documentation, and technical evaluations.
  • Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to meet project timelines and specifications.
  • Providing technical support and recommendations to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensuring adherence to Australian standards and regulations, such as Ausgrid compliance requirements.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking professionals who bring the following qualities :
  • A strong background in electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with high-voltage systems, protection systems, and substation commissioning.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment such as Omicron CMC, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to interface with clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in testing and commissioning roles.
  • Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Relevant certifications in high-voltage testing and electrical safety (preferred).
